Executive Summary:

BreezePlay™, LLC has developed a state-of-the-art device, the EnviroScape™ Energy Management System, a green technology product. The center piece of the EnviroScape System is a highly sophisticated, interactive in-wall touch screen panel that features a graphic-rich user interface to allow the customer to view resource usage data on a real-time basis and adjust consumption, accordingly.

In addition, the EnviroScape™ monitors a home’s energy usage 24/7 and can be programmed to automatically adjust components such as thermostats, lighting systems, and water heaters to maximize efficiency and conservation. Limits and ranges of use can be set by the customers or utilities; and hourly, daily, weekly and monthly savings results are displayed to track how conservation efforts are saving energy, money, and environmental impacts. The EnviroScape™ System can be accessed and controlled via the in-wall touch panel in the home, the on-line Customer Web Portal, and/or any web-enabled mobile device; allowing customers real-time access to their systems from anywhere in the world.

Power providers can use the EnviroScape Energy Management System as a gateway to communicate with and educate customers to encourage conservation during peak load periods, thereby assisting in their Demand Response Management (DRM) programs. Furthermore, the panel allows the participating utility to regulate consumption by pinpointing certain energy-intensive systems within the home, such as HVAC systems, water heaters, swimming pool and spa pumps, and electric vehicle charging stations.

To implement and augment the EnviroScape system within communities, and to increase the effectiveness and longevity of energy efficiency efforts, BreezePlay has also designed the unique Green Community Program. The Green Community Program partners with power providers to unite their entire customer base in compelling ways that will affect significant program participation and effectiveness.

The goal of the Green Community Program is to maximize residential and commercial energy efficiency programs by combining them in a thoughtful, deliberate, and well-orchestrated community campaign. By targeting a cohesive geographic area (neighborhood/subdivision/small town), and engaging that community’s network of retail/commercial businesses, the utility or power provider, and the government/civic agencies of the community; BreezePlay has developed a program that will be highly visible and that will create significant program effectiveness, participation, and longevity.

The BreezePlay Green Community Program leverages the power of social networking through custom community websites, and the principles of behavioral science to educate communities and raise awareness. The program uniquely integrates the EnviroScape technology in homes and businesses, with education and awareness throughout the community to help people make smart decisions about their energy use, and to maximize energy conservation and efficiency across all demographic groups.

We develop innovative ways to leverage community involvement and cutting-edge technology to educate people and raise awareness about energy consumption, management, and efficiency. With unique products and services, BreezePlay customers make a difference for their families, neighbors, and community by joining together in united efforts to save energy and beautify their communities. What specific results have been achieved?

Image Two

BreezePlay currently has 13 communities/municipalities under contract to initiate pilot programs/studies of the EnviroScape Energy Management system and/or the Green Community Program.

We have also partnered with the University of Southern California's renowned Energy Institute to study the effect of Energy Management technology and efficiency programs on consumers' energy usage choices and behavior.

In what ways are the efforts of this organization/individual unique and innovative?

Image Three

BreezePlay, for the first time, combines unique technology with social media and community programs to effect real behavioral modification. Using years of behavioral science research, BreezePlay has created programs specifically for power providers that are designed to improve customer communications and relations, and to significantly increase efficiency behavior and program persistence.

In addition, the EnviroScape Energy Management technology is affordable for utilities and customers, and is compatible with traditional analog power meters as well as the new Smart Meter technology - a considerable differentiator from most energy management/display systems.

c

How has the broader community been impacted?

With the implementation of BreezePlay Green Community Programs, neighborhoods and towns will be connected in new and compelling ways that improve individual consumers' lives, as well as the health and sustainability of entire communities.

With creative technology, media, and education platforms, BreezePlay products and services bring an awareness of the connected nature of energy consumption in a community and the impact that small, but directed, efforts can have to improve the environment.
